Skin and Nail Treatment

"Cracked heels, long nails, hard skin, warts and corns are just some of the areas that can be covered in a skin and nail consultation.

What is often known as "general podiatry" this service is the appointment that can address any concerns you might have with anything affecting the skin of the lower leg or the nail condition.

Skin and nail treatments are an incredibly important service for a wide range of the community. We can help people struggling to reach or cut their toenails properly, with calluses/corns/warts, with ingrown toe nails, thickened/deformed toenails, fungal toe nail infections or those who simply want "tidy up" their feet (cosmetic podiatry).

There are 3 main elements of this service

1. Assessment and diagnosis

The Podiatrist will take your medical history, they will assess your feet and legs visually and take note of any nail issues, corns, calluses, infections, cracked heels, dry skin or suspect lesions that may require treatment. Your blood flow will be assessed as will the function of the nerves in your feet and legs.

2. Treatment

The Podiatrist will complete any physical work required. This might be cutting the nails, thinning thick nails, clearing callus and hard skin, applying creams to treat dry skin etc. Our Podiatrists have incredible hands on skills that leaves your feet feeling light, fresh, pain free and as though you could walk on air!

3. Advice and Aftercare

Finally, the Podiatrist will give you advice on how to best care for your feet going forward. This may include educating you on tips how to cut your own nails, the prescription of medications, creams footwear advice or anything else to keep your feet healthy and happy. "
