Onpoint Ultrasound

Real-time imaging, so your treatment starts with certainty.

When you are in pain, the last thing you want is to wait weeks for answers.

Most diagnostic imaging requires a referral, a separate appointment, an increased cost and days or weeks before results come back. By that point you have already lost time you did not want to lose. OnPoint ultrasound changes that by bringing real-time soft tissue imaging directly into your appointment.

During your consultation we can image the tendons, ligaments, fascia and other soft tissue structures of the foot and ankle on the spot. This means that instead of forming a provisional diagnosis and waiting for imaging to confirm it, we can see exactly what is happening in the tissue during the same appointment we assess you. A clearer picture of the problem from the start means treatment planning can begin straight away rather than at a follow up weeks down the track.

Ultrasound is particularly useful for tendon injuries, plantar fascia problems, bursae and other soft tissue conditions that do not always show clearly on physical examination alone. It can also be used to guide cortisone injections, improving the accuracy of placement and the likelihood of a good outcome.

If you have been dealing with foot or ankle pain and are not yet sure what is causing it, this is one of the most direct ways to find out.

Common conditions where ultrasound assessment may be useful include:

  • Plantar fasciitis and plantar heel pain
  • Achilles tendon injuries
  • Tibialis posterior tendon dysfunction
  • Peroneal tendon injuries
  • Soft tissue inflammation around joints
  • Bursitis in the forefoot
  • Ligament injuries of the foot and ankle

Using ultrasound during the consultation helps provide a clearer picture of what is happening inside the foot and ankle, allowing treatment to be more targeted and informed.
