Meet Principal Podiatrist Jordan Ryder

Jordan Ryder

Principal Podiatrist

Jordan Ryder is the principal podiatrist at Wagga Podiatry Plus and one of the most experienced podiatrists practising in regional NSW.

Born and raised in Wagga Wagga, Jordan spent eight years practising on Macquarie Street, Sydney, where he developed a strong reputation for managing complex foot and lower limb conditions using advanced assessment techniques and modern podiatric technology. He returned to Wagga to establish Wagga Podiatry Plus alongside his brother Bill, with the aim of bringing that standard of care to the Riverina.

Jordan is Wagga’s only endorsed podiatrist, having completed additional postgraduate training that allows him to prescribe certain scheduled medicines including antibiotics and administer injection therapies when clinically appropriate. This means patients with more complex or painful presentations can be assessed and treated within the same clinic rather than requiring referral elsewhere.

His clinical work focuses on identifying the underlying drivers of foot and leg pain through detailed biomechanical assessment, gait analysis and structured rehabilitation. Many of the patients who attend the clinic have persistent or complex problems that have not improved with previous treatment, and finding the reason why is a significant part of what Jordan does.

Jordan has a particular interest in lower limb biomechanics and the way the body moves during walking and running. He regularly uses advanced gait and pressure analysis to understand how forces move through the foot and leg, and has a strong focus on in-house orthotic manufacturing, designing and producing devices that are built specifically around each patient’s assessment findings rather than adapted from a generic template.

Jordan has been recognised nationally, winning Podiatrist of the Year at the Australian Allied Health Awards for excellence in clinical practice, education and innovation. He also spent five years teaching podiatry students at Central Queensland University’s Sydney campus in biomechanics, diabetic foot care and pressure analysis, an experience that has kept him closely connected to current research and technology in the field.

Outside the clinic, Jordan is a keen but slow runner. He has completed three marathons and several triathlons, and enjoys cycling, AFL and the occasional round of golf.
