Meet Podiatrist Amelia O'Connell

Amelia O’Connell

Podiatrist

Amelia joined Wagga Podiatry Plus in 2026, returning to the Riverina after three years in clinical practice in Newcastle. She completed her podiatry degree at Charles Sturt University in 2022, training in Albury before starting her career on the coast.

Her time in Newcastle built a broad, well-rounded skill set across all age groups, with a particular interest in sports injuries and children’s feet. She is particularly passionate about integrating the latest technology into her assessments, using tools such as in-shoe and treadmill pressure analysis, diagnostic ultrasound and video gait analysis to understand what is driving an injury rather than relying on observation alone. That approach lets her show patients exactly what she is seeing and build treatment around measurable findings.

Amelia is currently completing her endorsement for scheduled medicines, which will allow her to prescribe and administer a defined range of medicines relevant to podiatric practice, including local anaesthetics, antibiotics and antifungals.
